Because the Chateau Laurier is so incredibly popular, it is not always easy to obtain rooms there, and as a result, we have also booked rooms for conference participants at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel, 180 Cooper St - Ottawa, ON, Canada K2P 2L5 Tel:1-800-236-8399. This hotel is a lovely ten-minute walk from the Chateau Laurier. The cost of the rooms at the Cartier Place is somewhat lower than the Chateau Laurier.

Meet our Speakers
Lawrence D. Jacobs
Larry Jacobs has two Masters degrees from Yale University in Economics and Natural Resources Policy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Allegheny College. He is currently Vice President of the Howard Center in Rockford, Illinois for Family Religion and Society which operates the World Congress of Families (an organization which represents NGOs from over 65 countries). He was named as one of the top 40 leaders under 40 by the Cincinnati Business Courier in 2003. Larry has had many publications dealing with family and scientific matters. Larry will speak about the history of the World Congress of Families and its many successes.
Don Feder
Don Feder was a Boston Herald Editorial writer and syndicated columnist for 19 years. His writings have appeared in some of the most respected newspapers and journals in the US, such as USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, National Review. He has appeared on major network and syndicated radio and television shows. He is a lawyer and is admitted to the practice of law in New York and Massachussetts. Mr. Feder is the Director of Communications for the World Congress of Families.
Dr. Janice Crouse
Dr. Janice Crouse is a Senior Fellow at the Beverly LaHaye Institute, the think tank for Concerned Women for America. She is a recognized authority on sex trafficking and United Nations, as well as national and international, cultural, children’s and women’s concerns. She served as a Presidential speech writer during the first Bush administration, authoring major presidential policy addresses. Currently, she is a columnist for United Press International. She is frequently a guest lecturer on university campuses – including, most recently, Princeton and Harvard.
Barbara Kay
Barbara Kay has a degree in English Literature from McGill University. She taught English Literature and Composition, both at Concordia University in Montreal and in the Quebec CEGEP system (community college). She was a frequent contributor and sat on the board of Cite Libre. Since 2003, Barbara has been a regular columnist for the Comments section of the National Post, where she writes on cultural, political and lifestyle topics. In her articles, Barbara has been unafraid to confront the politically correct.
Dr. Michael Wagner
Dr. Wagner received his Ph.D in political science from the University of Alberta. He was a lecturer and teaching assistant at the University of Alberta and at the University of Calgary. He has written an article on charter schools, published in the Alberta Journal of Educational Research. He is the author of the book, “Standing on Guard for Thee,” which chronicles the history of social conservatives and the Christian right in Canada. Dr. Wagner and his wife home school their nine children.
Dr. Colin Mangham
Dr. Mangham has a Ph.D from The University of Oregon in Community Health and a B.Ed. MA from UBC in science/health education. Dr. Mangham has thirty years experience in substance abuse prevention in Canada. He has worked in addiction programs, healthy family and youth development, and community health promotion since 1979. Dr. Mangham worked for four years as a full-time faculty member in the Faculty of Health Professions at Dalhousie University in Halifax and instructed at the University of BC and Simon Fraser University. Dr. Mangham has written extensively on drug addiction.
C. Gwendolyn Landolt
C. Gwendolyn Landolt graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia, Canada and was called to the British Columbia Bar. She has had an extensive legal career in private practice, as a Crown prosecutor and as a lawyer with the federal government, where she specialized in immigration and aboriginal affairs. Gwen has written extensively on constitutional issues, in particular the Canadian Charter of Rights, and has participated in many cases before the Supreme Court of Canada on pro-life and pro-family issues. Gwen is one of the founders, and is currently National Vice President, of REAL Women of Canada. |
